A few people have commented on my Arthur, saying hes not a Yorkie.....
Now I cant say for defo that he is because I never met his breeder or his parents, as he was passed on to us at about 10 weeks as an unwanted present. He had been purchased by a family as a companion for their gran who found him too much of a handful and inconvenience. This was through a friend of a friend and he didnt come with any papers.
Anyhow he is a very big yorkie and I was looking at a website on Austrailian Silkies and they seem to have the same body shape as him and the weight seems about right he was 6.5kg at his last vet weigh in. He's about 16inc from nose to base of tail.
Do you think hes an Austrailian silky (wishful thinking) or a badly breed yorkie?

The likelihod is that he is a badly bred Yorkie as this breed is very common (especially the untypical wrong size and coloured ones :D) and the Silky is a rare breed in the UK, so the chances of him being one of those is less.
Yeah thought so. Im in the process of trying to rehome a shitz su that is also unwanted I bet when I see him he looks more like an old english sheepdog. lol

Leanne,
Big Yorkies aren't always "badly bred." Breeders gradually "downsized" them from animals that could easily catch and kill a well fed rat to rat-sized themselves. :-) Occassionally there are throwbacks, even in the best of lines.
