I'm looking after a pbgv with lots of knots & heaven only knows what in his beard & all round his nose. Please can anyone give me some pointers on how to clean his face & hair & also how to keep it clean.

Maybe I should add that he has been to the sheep shearers so the rest of his coat is fine & I have repeatedly washed his face over the past 2 weeks but whatever is stuck in there is not coming out
