Hi

We have recently moved to an area and I need to identify a new vet for our soon to be arriving puppy?

As I know very few people in the area and we are quite rural what sort of questions would you be asking a potential vets surgery to decide whether they were right for you?

I would ask if there was a vet on call 24/7?
How many vets at the practice
Do they have operating facilities on site?
How many nurses are there?

I have a very bad experience with a vet before and when I changed to another practice, I went to see them before I registered any animal with them.

Well, found one!

24/7, 2 vets (small country practice), mainly small animals, will deal with insurers direct, 4 nurses, operating facilities and already dealing with three flatcoats (we're getting an FCR) - so all good. Been invited in at the weekend and want to see the puppy within 48hrs of him being in his new home.

Thanks for the questions. :-)
