Sorry don't know which breeder you mean, your link didn't help either.

Your best bet to find a reputable breeder is to contact the Midland Border Terrier Club, who should be able to give you more information on this or other breeders. Jena Tuck is the Secretary and can be contacted on tatuck@Lineone.net

Still never heard of them, but didn't like the way that they say BT pups are all born black and then change to grizzle, shows a lack of knowledge there in my opinion, they are born very dark brown but only born black when they are blue and tans.

Nor was I impressed by the fact that they have both sire and dam at their kennels of both labs and borders, that on its own would make me think twice.

They say they breed show quality but they give neither their surname or Kennel Affix, any show results or information about breed club membership.  The also say their Labradors are hip scored and eye tested but give no details of the results or pedigree information.  All quite unusual for a show kennel I would have said.

charlotte.  A really genuine question please.  These are not my breeds but I have been showing and breeding my dogs for over 20 years.  Please tell me what makes you think that this is a really good breeder?  I am always wondering why people choose the breeders that they do.  Thanks. :D

After speaking with this lady for a while on the phone, she gave me the impression that she knows this breed well, she seemed to ask me the right questions and was able to answer mine confidently.she told me that her dogs were pets first and foremost which i felt was important, they will have plenty of human contact and be brought up with lots of household noise, they will also leave her with pedigree,kc registration papers,a little bag of food that she feeds,a piece of bedding with mums scent on it,she also offers support.
i tend to think that you can't get all the info you require or make decisions on what a webpage/kennel page says or doesn't.
personally i think you need to speak to the breeders and weigh up the pros and cons, nobody can make that decision for you.
we have had dogs before but didn't know much about borders and are still doing our research,we are going to view the litter in about 2 weeks and i suppose we will have a better idea then,if i'm not comfortable i will not buy one,it has to be the right breeder, who cares about where there pups are going.

Thanks for replying Charlotte.:)  I understand what you're saying and I can see that you are looking for all the right things in a breeder.  Of course I haven't spoken to the lady, but must say that there is absolutely nothing on the website that convinces me, as an exhibitor and breeder of 20+ years, that there is any knowledge and experience there at all! :(
Looking at Lady Dazzle's post, and she IS knowledgable and experienced in the breed, it doesn't look as she was impressed either.  Maybe if you were to PM Lady Dazzle, she could point you towards a reputable breeder who would give you the backup that you quite rightly are looking for but has the necessary knowledge too. :)

I think that would be wise. ;)

IS this a different breeder to the one you said had 6 days old pups?

I can't imagine anyone I know wanting the website address of blah blah breeders.. I would rather been recognised by my affix.. which is what most people name their websites by..they are proud of their acheivements and proud to show them , they tend not really to have to even say puppies avaliable. If you have a good repuation for producing nice puppies and good stock people will come and ask you if you have a puppy without you telling the word.  Just my opinion and by no means reflective of the site.

I notice NO affix is mentioned. Find out the affix and type it into goodle if they produce SHOW stock it will come up in the search no problems.

Investigating a person is the best way to satisfy yourself.
