Does anyone know of a recipe for yoghurt ice cream? I'd be very grateful if they would share it with me.

This is a lovely recipie, and quite simple too! ;-) Hope it is what you were after.

225 g/8 oz strawberries
75 g/3 oz sugar.
450 g/16 oz low fat natural yoghurt
1 Egg white (optional).

Puree the strawberries and sugar, then sieve if preferred. Mix with the
yogurt. Freeze in an ice cream maker for 20 minutes. Alternatively, place
the mixture in a freezer until just beginning to freeze around the edges.
Whisk the egg white and fold into the part frozen mixture. Return the ice
cream to the freezer until frozen.

Wow, that was quick that sounds great. I make my own yoghurt so when it doen't get eaten that sounds an ideal recipe to try out as I do hate throwing anything away.

Thanks very much.

Someone I work with told me that he bought a yoghurt maker off of a sky shopping channel and apparently it's fantastic!

I just use a bowl and the airing cupboard and that works really well and is so easy. I am always reluctant to buy any gadgets because when the fad wears off they just get put in a cupboard.

We eat loads of yoghurt - pray tell how you make it. I could save a fortune.Or as OH has kindly pointed out forget it and leave it in the airing cupboard until it really stinks :o

All you need is 1 1/2 pints of milk and 2 tablespoons of natural yoghurt not low fat.

I use whole milk but it works just as well with semi skimmed.

Bring milk to the boil when it starts bubbling simmer for 2 mins
When it has cooled enough to keep your finger in it usually about 25 mins blend with yoghurt that has been mixed in a mixing bowl. Cover with clingfilm put in a warm place for 5 to 8 hours.
You can use 2 tablespoons of this yoghurt everytime you need a new lot but use new yoghurt every 3 months.

You can add your own flavourings my OH's fav at the moment is Lyles Coffee syrup sticks.

Good luck
