Can dogs get conjuntivitis and if they can is it a trip to the vets. I have two labradors and both have a green discharge from their eyes.  One now has got a blood shot eye.

This has only started today.  They are still very lively and are drinking and eating normally.  Any advice would help please.

Thanks

They can yes, and if there is green discharge they will probably need antibiotic drops so you ought to see the vet.

In the meantime bathe the eye's in cold black tea, always works with my own dogs.  I also slouce their eyes with saline solution when they've been running in the long grass, its surprising how often that one of my dogs gets grass seeds under her eyelids.  The saline solution washes them out beautifully.
