...didn't want to start another thread entitled liver cake ;-)

I am just about to make some LC, my first batch - have looked up the trusted champdoggers-preferred recipe, have been to sainsbury's and bought my ingredients and was all ready to start until I realised - it doesn't say whether the liver that goes into the blender should be cooked or raw.

I said raw, but OH said cooked...and having trawled through all threads entitled liver cake...not one of them mentions whether it is raw or cooked (which again convinces me it should be raw as otherwise they would mention that it should be cooked).

But as I am a complete numpty in the kitchen, and cooking for the dog is about as domesticated as you will ever find me being, I thought it best to check first!

So...it is raw isn't it?

Excellent, thanks Val, especially for being so speedy!

Ok here I go...:-D

Good luck...isn't too difficult even for the culinary-challenged :D The only problem I have is the smell (raw and when cooking) but  the dogs love it. The OH tried it  but wasn't keen, he much prefers the variation made with tinned sardines in tomato sauce...

Well....

...i blew up the blender

I'm not sure whether the blender is on its way out or it just didn't like liver, but the smoke coming out of it indicated that something wasn't quite right.

So a very lumpy, half-blended, half-handmixed liver cake is waiting for Millie to try later.

I must say, picking lumps of liver out of the handwhisk was an interesting and novel way to spend my Sunday afternoon!

AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm sure that Millie will be very impressed with your effort!  Some people only chop the liver roughly, although I like it mushy!!

I would have preferred it mushy too, but Millie insists it makes no different to her and that I am the best mum in the world for making it for her.

Pilchard cake tomorrow, I can do that without the blender :-D

If you takje a trip to a car boot sale next weekend, you could well find another blender for a couple of pounds!! ;)
Glad that Millie appreciates your efforts.
