Hi we are a family with 2 children age 4 & 5 and would like a little dog to join our family. We would like something very small (a lapdog for me to cuddle!) as we would like to pop it in the car and take it everywhere with us. The poor little thing will be overcome with love and cuddles! If you can help, please get in touch. We will consider rescue/crossbreeds as we dont see the point in spending lots of money on a pedigree as we would never show or breed. We live in Central Scotland but will travel a reasonable distance. claire.murphy@blueyonder.co.uk
ps may consider part exchanging children!!!

How about visiting your local rescue - RSPCA or such like?
If you do want a pedigree have a look at the search pages on this site and look through the different dogs. I have a westie who is a fantastic little dog. He can be a lapdog and he can be, well a terrier!
Hope you find the dog which you will love and care for forever as I have done.

Hi. I've burned the tyres out on my car today going round places! We went to the local authority pound, two sspca kennels and second chance kennels but they were all quite big dogs. A lab pup (7 months) tugged at my heartstrings but he looked like he'd be a big lad when he's older. I will try the websites you recommended - thanks for your help x

Claire - not that I am totally biased towards westies but I cannot recommend them more. After all westies are a Scottish breed and wouldnt it be lovely to have a homegrown breed.
As you say labs are absolutely beautiful but they do grow big, and if youre looking for a lap dog! ooh! My brother has a dalmation and he tries to be a lapdog at times and wow does it hurt!!
Do consider the breed list on champdogs as they give you a start as to what breed of dog is for you. If you want to know anything about westies, I am no expert just a lover of the breed, so please dont hesitate to ask me anything.
Gillie & Mack xx
Hey thanks! Do you know if there are any rescue places for Westies? x
