Hi Charlotte, it's difficult to comment on that when the phrase is presented out of context.

I can understand that! I lose a stone in weight with every litter purely down to the stress of vetting people to try to ensure they're suitable for one of my babies! If I could ensure that each litter contained the only the puppy I wanted for myself I'd be perfectly happy. It sounds to me as though your breeder isn't simply trying to make money - so that's got to be good!

Laughing my head off JJ - you lose weight with puppies, I gain HUGE amounts, I comfort eat the whole way through it LOL That and I think you lose so my sleep and need endless amounts of energy is my excuses for eating chocolate at 3.00am, 4.00am, 5.00am or just about anytime amd it's so much easier than making a meal. I always tell myself I shall lose it all when things get back to normal, but normality never seems to find me ! LOL

Lots of breeders sometimes only breed when they need to keep something back for themselves and to futher their own lines (I bred once for this purpose in the past) maybe this is what they ment?  It sounds like a good thing as it shows that they are not breeding just for the money.

If she hasn't got many dogs like myself then what she says is right.  I'm nearing the end of my line and if I don't keep a pup in this litter or my next litter then my line will not totally be gone because other people do have my line  but will near enough be.  Lana who has just had the litter is able to have one more litter and Carina my other girl will be having her last one at the end of the year.  So I have to decide what I really want to do.  Though it looks as though my mum and dad are going to keep one so hopefully my line will continue :d
