Can i enter my 4 month old puppy into a fun dog show.
Are these held by kc rules?
Can anyone tell me what these fun shows are like?

Hi Guest, you cannot enter a puppy in any show until it is 6 months old (though some of us stretch this for a companion show and take a 5 1/2 month old puppy as you do not give it's KC name at a companion show!). Companion shows are great fun, there are lots of threads about them in the 'Shows' area. You usually get a few pedigree classes, then 6 - 12 novelty classes (handsomest dog, dog most like owner, waggiest tail etc). Why not join the forum then you can let us know how your puppy gets on once it's old enough?

Hi, you can enter puppies under 6 months at fun dog shows as they are not held under KC rules

I think their own rules state that dogs must be at least 6 months of age, to stop people exploiting baby puppies.

They usually do say 6 mnonths.  You can take them younger but not enter them in classes.  Though saying that I have known a top judge allow a 12 week old pup which was obviously 12 weeks to be shown at a KC exemption show and it won Best Puppy in SHow.  Can't mention the judges name but he's very well know !!!
