Hi. Will someone let me know if I'm right or not in thinking that, if a dog/bitch gets placed in the first 3 in Limit class. Does it get its stud book number and is it then qualified for Crufts for life?  Is it only the first 3?Also is there any other classes where you would get the same result ie. In the stud book and qualify for Crufts for life. If it is only in Limit classes, why would this be and what does Limit actually mean?

I think it depends on what breed you are showing.  In dalmatians it is a 1st only in limit and a 1 -3rd in open to get a stud book number therefore qualifing it for crufts for life.

Depending on the breed & the band it is in Only the E band breeds get a stud book number from the 2nd & 3rd in limit

The bands can be found on the KC site

In Cavs it is 1st, 2nd or 3rd, but it depends on the band your breed is in.

If you look in any schedule you nwill find a definition of the classes which will tell you what the classes mean.

As for stud book qualification this is different for diferent breeds and the breeds are aranged in bands as to which wins qualify for stud bok entry.

In my own breed only the CC, RCC winners and 1st and 2nd in Open at a champ show wehre CCs are on offer for the bred counts, as well as a dog that wins a Junior Warrant.
