I started showing my my borzoi this february but i am still not clued up on what everything means. I want to know what the following means: CACs, CACIBs, Stakes finals, Group wins. This may be obvious to the proffessionals but not to me. Im sure plenty of people know on here.

CACs and CACIBs are European equivalents of the UK Challenge Certificates I think. Stakes classes are usually variety classes, and Group wins are what the lucky BOB winners get! More details from more knowledgable people I expect!
Group wins are divided into 4, altho if you 'win the group' that means you have got Group 1, but there is also Group 2(AKA reserve in group) Group 3 and Group 4 and the Puppy eqivilants(sp)! All the unbeaten BOBs go forward into group and the judge will then pick out the four they like most, the group winners then go forward to compete for BIS, BUT some shows are judged on the group system so ALL previoulsy unbeaten dogs go forward for BIS!
Hope I didn't confuse you there, feel free to ask me to clarify if I did!!!
I don't enter stakes(at champ shows) but at each show they have qualifying heats where 1 or 2 dogs qualify and go forward to compete in the finals, they usually happen once a year and dogs qualify in the year upto the finals....so a puppy might qualify for the finals but won't necessarily still be a puppy for the finals!
Sorry if I confused you again :D
Emily
Thanks emily, you haven't confused me but i've learnt something new. When i read dog results i won't be wondering what they've won!
Glad to be of help, I'm still learning too but its good to pass on what I've learnt so far :)
