I would like to find 2 cocker spaniel puppies (bitches) that have not been docked, any colour except black and white. I live in Hertfordshire. These will be family pets. We had our previous black and white cockers for 16 happy years. Does anyone have 2 puppies that fit the bill?

Guest, please think very hard about getting two puppies together. 2 puppies is not just twice the work - it's 3 times...... There's the basic training that each puppy needs, but on top of that, you need to work with each one idividually to make sure YOU have the strongest bond with them, this way they pay attention to what you want, and not what they want........ It's far better to get a pup, but some time and effort into training and socialising them into a nice family dog, and then, in maybe 18 months - 2 years, getting another pup. This way there is less chance of getting two dogs who are so similar they fight over each and every little thing (and remember bitches will fight for breathing rights, where as dogs only fight over breeding rights ;))
Also remember that a really responsible breeder won't sell 2 puppies from the same litter to the same home, fpr precisly these reasons, and there are plenty of owners and breeders on here who will tell you they've kept two puppies for some reason, and really, really wish they hadn't......

Don't get 2 dogs together, we did that (from different litters and breeds) and after 3 years they started fighting. It was probably partly the new puppy that set them off, but now it's just a habit and they have to live separately which is a nightmare!!!
