Hi can anyone advice just how safe it is to abort a unplanned litter a friend of mine has a bitch that is showing all the signs of being in whelp even though she is addament that her dogs where kept seperated, she is taking her girl to the vets on tuesday to discuss the options open to her.

If she is showing signs of pregnancy - she must be a few weeks into her pregnancy - there is nothing that can be done now, only to continue with the pregnancy.

Or a hysterectomy, or a hysterotomy if breeding is intended in the future.

Thanks for the replies the bitch has now been spayed and thankfully there wasnt any puppies great sigh of relieve for my friend although she did tell me she had kept her young boy well away from her bitch
