what health test do both bullmastiffs bitches and dogs  need before you consider breeding ?

Your best bet is to join your breed club. That way you'll have easy access to the experts.

They should be hipscored and eye tested, and also check for health problems at least 3 generations back....and of course be breed standard themselves.

All the best

If you join your breed club ask to purchase the last m10 years owrth of yearbooks.  These will ahve breeders adverts, pedigrees and photos of the dogs, some of which will be in yoru pedigree.  there will aslo be interesting articles.

I warn you after that you will wnat to research the previous 10 years and then the next, and you will be getting as many old issues as possible.

It is fascinating seeing how the current lines have developed, the greats of the past and see how they have influenced the current dogs.

hi dawn
a good idea too if your having your dog hip scored is to have him elbow scored at the same time ...only one anaesthetic ...kill two birds with one stone so to speak .

Hi Dawn it's a good idea as Debbie said to get the elbows and hips scored also an eye test to make sure they haven't got juvenile catract or juvenile atrophy.  And maybe a heart test and Dna profiling.
