Hi folks,

I am having increasing difficulties getting to shows.  The local exhibitor in my breed has sadly had to curtail their showing due to family commitments for the forseable future.

One of my other regular lifts has difficulties getting time off work especialy on Saturdays (they work in Pub Catering) since new management are not sympatheitc to her showing needs :D 

As she comes up from Somerset Fridays can be hard for her to if she is needed to work that evening (or coming off a double shift the night before) as due to Summer traiifc on M5 coming off to pick me up adds an awful lot to her journey times.

Other freinds based is South Wales are emigrating to France.

Is there anyone showing Hounds that is Bristol based that would be willing to share Petrol costs and can accomodate two easy traveling very Sociable with other strange dogs Elkhound bitches.  They take up very little space, curling up small :D

I tend to only do shows as far as Stafford, would also like to do more Open shows.

I have entered both WKC and Richmond, and would be looking to do Midland Counties and LKA.

I do not drive because I have very poor eyesight, so sadly cannot help with driving.

Wish I could help Barbara, but am at the other end of the country with a gundog breed.....sorry. Are you a member of an Elkhoung forum/discussion group...maybe someone on one of those could help of may know someone who could, just an idea :)

I know everyone in our bred that shows, there aren't many of us :D

It would need to be someone in another hound breed, unless I can find someone near me for the pick dog pup in my litter :D

I am in Frome, but I don't drive myself and I don't have a hound breed. I depend on my parents to drive me to shows at the moment!

It is so annoying that public transport appart from being so expensive is next to useless to get you anywhere except major destinations at Weekends.

I did Crufts one year when we were on the Friday and barely got there in time for my class in bitches when they cancelled two of the trains.

I know what you mean, i work for railway company and have to rely on them for getting to shows. I am in South Wales and have a Hound and i have a car.....but still havent got full license arrrghhhh........Go figure lol

Now Brainless, Come in a year and abit I might just be in bristol begging for someone to go to shows with while I'm stuck at uni...Bristols on my list.  Might be begging to let me drive you so I can go to some shows....Not that I would let shows interfere with my work of course....... :D

Thats also if I pass my test within the next year!

hi, i know I am your best bet !!:)  being further sw & having hounds etc. If i have a show I can help with then I will & you do know me after all!!! However most of them I have 4 or 5 entered or i  am being picked up by someone myself. Will help when i can though.
