We have a 14 month old bitch who, since March has had hair loss down the centre of her back, combined with raised bumps.  The vet initially believed it might be fox mange and treated it accordingly.  I also put her on evening primrose oil and cod liver oils in order for the new hair to grow through healthily.  The spots went down and hair loss calmed down a bit but after a couple of weeks, it came back.  After three treatments with antiobiotics - all of which i think were different - the Vet came to the conclusion that it just a form of acne that Dobermann suffer with.  The vet also had three other dobes (all the same age) with the same condition and this is the only conclusion she could come up with.  Crystal very rarely scrathces or itches and it appears the spots do not bother her unless you touch them, as they must be tender ( a bit like our spots, I presume).  I have looked on numerous occasions over the internet but cannot come up with anything. 

Is there anyone else out there who has had a similar problem or that can offer advice.  As I said they do not seem to bother her but yet her back, when you are up close looks messy with the skin showing through in places.
