I found a site a while ago, which had a gestation calculator, you put the date of the mating in, and it came up with a due date, does anyone know where this is? BTW I mean a dog's gestation, not human!!! ;) :D
Well ?? How is it going ??
Have you got a 'daddy' ?
Hope all goes well now, so you can stop stressing :D :D
Hugs Gabrielle x

OOH...Some good news at last Natalie?? Fingers and paws crossed here that your puppy will be 'made' soon!! :)
Thanks Jules :D LOL I have got a great big grin plastered on my face, hubbie is going mad!!! :D
It is all good news :D :D :D
Pepper has FINALLY come into season :D and the breeder has said she is just waiting for the final go ahead to use a dog, and hopefully the mating should take place within the week :D :D :D
I am sooooooo happy and excited :D :D but I bet you knew that!!! :D :D :D Whoooo hoooooooooooooooooooo!!!! :D :D

GREAT news Natalie!! :D I am sooooo excited for you!! Let us know as soon as you get any more news!!!! :D :D :D
LOL you are excited I am going off my head!!!
I rang my mum last night to tell her, I said we have got some good news, and I told her, she said 'the way you said that I thought you were pregnant!!!' LOL I couldn't be happier, now just got to start hoping that she takes! :D :D :D :D sorry I can't help the smileys they are doing it by themselves ;)

LOL :D :D :D You have every right to be VERY ecxited!!!! :D Enjoy it!!! I bet you are more excited now than you were when YOU were preparing for YOUR baby!!!!!!! :D :D :D
Very close!!! I kind of took it for granted that everything would be OK, when I was pregnant, but I am seriously worried about all of the things that go wrong with Pepper and the pups! Probably because when I was pregnant, I hadn't known anyone by then that had had any problems with babies, but having read all of the things that can go wrong on here to a dog -

So I am still a bit tense but I am way more excited :D :D :D :D !!!

I know what you mean. I have read so many sad storys on here too. :-( But.... think positive!!! :D We have all our fingers an paws crossed here!!! :D :D
Thanks Mackleback :D :D :D

Of course there are some scary stories of what can go wrong, but look at how many healthy litters CDers (or rather, their dogs) have produced in the last few days alone!! :) Try to keep pawsitive (sorry!). Have you decided on a boy or a girl and have you picked any names (betting that you have :D )?
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
>pawsitive
LOL :D
We have definitly decided on a boy, they just have so much more coat than the girls, and I know that means more moulting, but let's face it, an Aussie will moult no matter how long the coat is!
Names, we have Ozzy picked out but that is about the 10th we have decided on, so it may well change before we get him! I like Harry as well, but my three year old says 'Arry, so that is a nono!! :D A lot of Aussies have an old man look to them, so I was trying to think of an old fashioned name, but then I want something that no one else has got so we can't think of an old fashioned name that no one else has!!! I might try to track down the census from victorian times and see if I can find any names that haven't stood the test of time :D

Hey, I have a Newfie pup and a Lab X Chow...there is nothing anyone can tell me about moulting!! :D Dog hair is a fact of life in my house and anyone who doesn't like it doesn't have to visit. It certainly wouldn't put me off getting another big, hairy dog. Although you will be surprised at some of the places you'll find it... ;)
Could be difficult to find an uncommon old fashioned name as a lot of them have made a comeback of late. There are 2 Archies in our puppy class alone. I'm sure you'll come up with something suitable although you might have to wait til you see him to see what suits him best.
I'm thinking the next few months could be painfully slow for you..... :D :D
I not bothered about the hair, I hoover up after my little boy about 3-4 times a day, my sofas are leather so they will just wipe off there! Besides hubbie is moulting ( ;) ) so I am getting used to it already!!! LOL
I wonder if the census' are available to see on line, I am going to track it down somehow, I think they are available at bigger libraries as well.
The past 6 months have already gone too slowly, but thanks for smiling at my agnony! ;) :D :D :D

Just found this site, it has a list of old fashioned names (not sure if many of them are useful for dogs)
www.angelfire.com/id2/heathersnamepage/old_fashioned_names.html
Thanks I will take a look :D

I hope it helps, but i am sure you will find the perfect name for him!! I like harry too! ;-) I typed "old fashioned boys names" into google, and it came up with loads of sites!!
I was looking at someones family tree they had put up, ancestors from over 150 years ago, they were so boring though, all George's and Williams!!! :D :D :D

Sorry for smiling but I know the agony of waiting!! We were looking for a Newfie for about 18 months with no joy. A lot of the good breeders we contacted were reluctant to sell a pup to someone who had no experience of owning one. I could understand where they were coming from but how were we supposed to get experience if we couldn't get a pup

Then I thought we had found a breeder who could help and he turned out to be a puppy farmer so , of course we had to walk away :( I pretty much gave up at this point as I was just getting more and more disappointed. I eventually found our breeder totally by accident when I was helping a girl at work to find a JRT pup and when we went to meet her it all just fell into place. We got on really well and still keep in close contact. She had a small litter and no waiting list for 2 of the pups - they were brown and all her enquiries had been for black. I really had no preference as I intend to have a black and a landseer EVENTUALLY too. Not all at once, obviously... i'm mad but not totally certifiable (yet) :D
So, to get to the point (something I am very, very bad at :p)...I know what you are going through but at least you have found your breeder and know your puppy will come along eventually. And the feeling you have on the day you go to pick him up will have made all the waiting worthwhile :) It's only when he's peed on the floor for the 5th time in an hour and chewed your favourite shoes to bits that you'll wonder why you ever wanted him so badly in the first place!! :P
Oooh the agony of waiting we have been waiting for our" Mum to be " anyway she is pregnant and expeting 8 pups. hubby is over the moon already talking names!!, but as ever I am having to keep him calm... :) there may not be a girlie in there!! it has been known....and only will think of names until she comes out, and we see her,so at the moment it is put to the back of my mind, until next month.....
Good luck HD :D
I quite like Harrison from all of those lists, but I suppose it will end up getting shortened to Harry, and then we are back to 'Arry again!! :D
I like Ozzy, obviously it is a different spelling of Aussie, and it is in his kennel name, and it is kind of unique, except for all of the poor babies called it after Ozzy Osbourne! The only thing with it is that I heard someone calling their dog Ozzy a few weeks ago at the park :( I liked Deefer, as in "D for" dog, until someone on here said it was like calling a fish bob, or something like that! So I am keeping an ear open for any strange names I hear, knowing us my son will end up choosing the name, and it will be Bob - after Bob the Builder, or Jake - from Tweenies, or Jollop - from Engie Bengy!!! LOL ;)
LOLOLOL he can chew my favourite shoes if he wants, just as long as he is in my house!!! :D
We are on the home run as they say, at least we have a good idea that we are now definitly going to get a pup at the end of it all, even this time yesterday it was all still up in the air! I am terrible at waiting for anything, I am one of those people that starts christmas shopping in June, although I haven't started yet because it has all been about the puppy this year!!! The only oher obsticle we have to get over is trying to convince the breeder that although we have absolutley no plans of using him to make babies, we would rather wait until he is matured to neuter him, or not neuter him at all! But it isn't the be all and end all, if she wants him neutered for definite, we will have to.

I'm sure if you present your reasons for wanting to neuter later rather than sooner, she'll understand. After all, it's shown that you've taken some time to think about the issue and weigh up the pros and cons and are thinking about what is in the best interests of the dog.
Are Aussie's recognised by KC? If so, I'm sure she'll endorse the puppy's pedigree to prevent unscrupulous breeding. Not that I'm implying that you would breed unscrupulously or otherwise but you know what I mean :)
Aussies are recognised by the KC, I haven't got a problem with her endorsing the papers, as I said, we are not going to use him breeding, so it makes no difference to us in that sense. I am sure we will work it out closer to the time.
