Nick (No3 Son) is outside, up ladders, painting the outside of the house - a very nice buttermilk colour.

Phone rings - for him.   I go out, through the gate, to give him the phone, followed closely by Freya.   She, of course, just has to go over to the paint tray he has put down - and plonks first one front paw, then t'other, in paint.   Nick goes to grab her, forgetting that his gloves are -yes - covered in cream paint!

She is STAYING outside, in the back garden, at least until it dries!!!

I think it will be better to let it wear/wash off than use solvents - unless anyone says anything to the contrary?

LOL poor Freya, I bet it feels horrible! You should have taped her to a broom handle and used her as a paint brush, the house would be finished in no time ;) :D

If it is emulsion, washing up liquid and warm water should do it, if you want her in the bath that is :)

A friend phoned whilst I was posting - she advised bathing, just in case the fungicide in the paint irritated her paws & started her chewing them....so she now smells very nice, of coconut, and has had a quick bath - in the paddling pool & with the hose - she wasn't exaactly impressed - after all, the others get taken up to the bathroom and have a nice warm shower ...but if she thought she was going up my nicely varnished stairs, with cream paws, she had another think coming :D :D :D

We MIGHT use her tail when it comes to painting the black "boot" around the house ;)

Hose pipe and dog shampoo will get it off :) Trust me we have three chocolate dogs that decided they would assist with the decorating after our building work ! :D

Sorry, couldn't help but laugh. Ever walked a lilac dog? :D My young dog, Chance, decided to help me paint the spare bedroom ;) He's ever such a softy, I think he liked the colour

Well my GSD is currently biscuit/cream :-)  We painted the utility room where she sleeps and one of the kids let her back in before it was dry!  We ought to do a show with them all - unusual colours!

We had begonia pink flatcoats for a while - they got hold of one of theose little sample pots with a plastic top, and chewed it........

Or a pink dog?  After a skunk encounter we washed our mostly white E. Springer S. in tomato juice.  Now we know better and use commercial skunk-off preparations - no pink and works better too.

LOL :d :d  I had this once with one of my cats.  She climbed the ladder into the magnolia paint, got such a fright that she did a circuit of the whole house.  I spent days trying to clean up the results.  Even then I was still finding paw prints in places you wouldn't have thought she could have reached!!!!

Beagle Behaving Badly!

And so! What shall we do today?
Mum and dad at LKA.
The dog room's looking old and tired,
LETS DECORATE! I feel inspired!

A big white paint pot way up high,
I can reach it if I really try!
A paw print look would be divine!
With some of yours, and some of mine!

I jump and jump
And bark and chatter,
No neighbours here
So it doesn't matter!

I claw along the high shelf ledge
To get that paint pot is my pledge!
If I flick my paw awry
The pot should spin across the sky.

And there it goes!....a fall, a plop!
On Pickles head (we need a mop!)
She looks just like a polar bear!
I mustn't laugh I mustn't stare!

She shakes the paint from off her coat,
The effect is good, its time to gloat!
The splattered walls look really "fab"
Not wood effect and really drab!
I think the folks will love out art,
and Todd of course, he played his part.
By sitting in the puddle, then,
Wagging his tail, then down again!

It smells a tad, I must admit,
Perhaps if we rolled 'round a bit?
To cover our coats as much as poss,
I wonder if its matt or gloss?

O MY GOD I hear the car!
Perhaps they didn't go that far?
The fumes are making me see double
I think that we're in LOTS of trouble!

Perhaps if we look sweet and good,
(you know, just like we really should!)
Our folks will never rave and rant
And chase us 'till we really pant!

Well, here they come, its now or never!
Will they say that we've been clever ?
I think we'd better bolt and run
'fore dad has time to get his gun!

They both cannot believe their eyes!
I think we gave a big surprise!
None of them could even utter!
What's that they say about mouths and butter?

The bath we had in icy water
Reached the parts it shouldn't aughter
The water from the outside hose
was played on us we almost froze!

Then in the bath so warm and smelly,
To wash the paint from off my belly!
Then wrapped in towels warm and cosy.
My art career does not look rosy!

Perhaps next time they leave us home
We'll get a telly and a phone?
Dad swears he'll do things not quite legal!
But that's not fair!
I'm JUST a BEAGLE !!

glad you liked the poem i write loads,sort of after everysignificant event  and some just asit comes to me, nearly all beagle or dog related mostly funny...wrote one sad one and everyone told me off so i wont do that again!
