hello everyone how are you all. i was wondering if you could answer a quick question for me. my bitch is 56 days. she is a labrador. she is very big and has alot of milk. can anyone tell me if alot of discharge means she will have the pups early or just that some bitch have more than others??? the discharge is a normal odourless/ clear one.

My Dobermann bitch had a clear/white discharge throughout her pregnancy (it was checked out by the vet) and went on to produce 8 beautiful, healthy babies at day 61. I think all dogs are individuals, but if you are really worried consult your vet just to be sure everything is OK. Good luck with your pups!

If it`s dripping when she is walking it could be mucus plug that comes away before puppies are born.I have a lab also,last litter mucus plug cames away on day 57 pups born on day 61. Her breeder told me his bitches all gave birth before day 60 . Check with vet just in case.

thanx everyone. the discharge isn't worrying me at all. it is dripping while she walks. i'll keep a very close eye on her. she has been moved into her whelping box. hopefully it means the little ones are on there way i'll keep you all posted.she was digging alot in the garden and is very unsettled.

another question how visable are contrations and would they cause her to flinch????

She will go through first stage and when that starts you will know you will see her small contractions which can go on for quite a while ,my skye work me at 6 am moaning and squeaking her toy santa she had first pup at 9 15 pm.Just a couple of big contractions .All 9 pups were bore by 12 30 am. Labs are easy welpers keep in touch with vet during first stage if only to reasure yourself that everything is going ok. Yes she wil shake in first stage .
