i think I have been lulled into a fasle sense of security. up till now My 8 month lab has been a dream. i have been trusting him when i go out making sure I leave toys and kongs. tofday i was only out for half an hour and I have come back to find a carpet with a hole and a cupboard door with a nice chew mark. why should this suddenly start now??

Because at this age the adult teeth often start to 'settle' in the jaw......

And it suits a Lab sense of humour to lull you in to a false sense of security :D Seriously mine have only really done damage once they were well past the puppy chewing stage, cos those big teeth can go through a thing in seconds. We recon that was how we got a hole in the carpet from a 4 year old Lab, we think there may have been something spilt and it started as a lick and progressed to a hole! He did at least look sorry when we got home.
