i have lost a huge amount of weight and i have started thinking about saving for a tummy tuck, has anyone had this done, and what should i expect.

Hi Carol, I've not had this done, but I work for a plastic surgeon, and I do know that 'some' people (particularly if you've lost lots of weight) are eligible for a tummy tuck to be done on the NHS.  It's called an abdominoplasty (but you probably knew that!).  I would firstly visit your GP, telling him/her that you are very depressed with the amount of loose skin, won't undress in front of your boyfriend/husband, won't go swimming, can't exercise etc etc.  If they believe that it's more of a problem from a psychological point of view, rather than cosmetic, then you are more likely to get funding to have it done on the NHS.

Otherwise to that, I think it's around £4,000 to have one done - I asked once when I was very depressed about being overweight!!  But then that might be more than you'd have to pay as I was wanting the fat taking away too - where as you've already lost yours - congratulations on that by the way!!
