To all ,15 years ago I owned a very beautiful Golden Retriever,I loved her so much I wanted a pup and so bred from her,all the pups were beautiful too and all had homes with family and friends.2 years after the pups ,my lovely dog had to have a large hip operation on her left side, barely had she recovered from this she had to be operated on the right side. She was a wonderful pet and lived to be 13,but everyone of her pups had a hip problem in later life, fortunately none of the pups were bred from and I am much more knowledgable now.but to anyone thinking of breeding and being a novic as I was then. Please for the sake of your pups have the hips checked..

Angela, how brave of you to write that post. Well done. I just wish that everyone realised how much knowledge is necessary of the dog, bitch and the ancestors behind them both, to breed healthy, good temperament and typical of the breed standard puppies of whatever breed!
