I got this on email, forwarded it to my dad and he forwarded it on to his director and it is now being put forward as company policy on works mobile phones - now I feel all important ;)

>East Anglian Ambulance Service have  launched a national "In case of

Emergency (ICE)" campaign.

The idea is that you store the word "ICE" in your mobile phone address book,
and against it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted
"In Case of Emergency". In an emergency situation ambulance and hospital
staff will then be able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be
able to contact them.

I received this email as well, and passed it onto everyone I know.  It's a good idea at least everyone will know what name to look for on your phone in case of an emergency.

I think this is a great idea.  If you have more than one emergency contact number you can store them as ICE1, ICE2, etc.

I have just done mine.  A very simple idea but could save anxious relatives a lot of worry.

Guys

I have just read this thread, and although I absolutely agree it's a great idea, however.......
We have been warned at our workplace that it may possibly leave mobile phone users open to hackers and viruses...
just thought I'd let you know what I had been told here....

How does that happen then? Have I got it wrong then I thought it was just a case of listing someone in your phone address book as ICE rather than Dad or Fred's Office No. so it was clear to anyone discovering your phone on your unconcious body who to phone first.
