Once you have been granted an affix, have received the certificate, how long until you can use it? Also, how long before it appears on the Kennel Club website?

once you get your affix it will usually appear in the next months edition of the kennel club magazine and also on their website. Once it appears on the website I think you have to wait a further month to make sure there are no objections - when you get your affix sent through the post there will be a letter which explains everything with the affix certificate :-)

Unless things have changed since I got mine if it has been granted you can use it straight away I would not imagine they would send the certificate unless the process was all completed.  Even if it is still in the pipeline you can still apply for puppy registration, for instance, and they are held in abayance until things are finalised.

You get it very quickly and are told you can use it straight away, BUT if anybody objects after it is published in the Kennel Gazette then it may be withdrawn, so you cannot be 100 % certain until after that has happened. They will tell you which issue it will appear in.

So they now send out a certificate now before it is finalised?  That sounds a bit wasteful and presumably all the replacement certificate costs will be passed on to the rest of us :(

as goldmali says you can use it straight away but if you use it and then there is an objection then any paperwork you have with your affix on it will have to be returned so its best to wait until the affix has been in the KC gazette and on the website and the time period given for objections, saves any hassle in the long run.
