hi all
just back from show and lil my 9 month old tibetan terrier is licking her paw there is a red lump there are no vets on call so is there anything i can put on it
i am hoping it is just a insect bite
should i spray savalon on it or something any ideas

can anyone recommend a herbal rememdy or something

Whereabouts is the lump? It could be an interdigital cyst or a grass-seed, perhaps. The best thing is to soak the paw for 5 minutes in a hot (but don't scald her!) solution of Epsom salts - though ordinary salt will do if you haven't got Epsom salts - about a tablespoon in a litre of water.

Just keep bathing it if it's an abcess or anything it should burst, hopefully.

Whereabouts near her toe? On the top of a single toe? On the top between two toes? On the side of a toe? Underneath a toe on the pad? All point to different things.

Soaking the foot as I described two or three times a day till you get to see the vet will help draw anything nasty (whether a seed or pus) to the surface to escape rather than keeping it within the foot.
