Topic Other Boards / Foo / Suede Jacket problem
- By LJS Date 08.07.05 16:31 UTC
I have a lovely jacket I absolutely adore but the only problem is the colour ! :) It is cream now going a very mucky colour !

Anyway I was wondering if you can get them professionally dyed as I think a chocolate or black colour might be a bit more practical :)

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Lucy

Can't you get it dry cleaned?

Yes you can get them professionally dyed but do some comparison shopping first, it may be cheaper to buy a new one.

Also, depending on wear, it may not come out quite the way you hoped.........

Lucy havent you worked out that everything has to be chocolate coloured - or it will end up that colour :D

I can hear people throwing their hands up in horror already ...........

I have a pale pink suede jacket, which at £35 a time to clean, was becoming a bit expensive.  Had heard a few people suggest you could, so threw it in the washing machine, it comes up fine :D - OK, so it won't last as long, but with the money I save I'll buy a new one when it dies.  Other family members have now done the same, and had no problems.

They come out a bit 'stiff' at first, but soften up with wear.

Take this tip at your own risk though ;)
