Topic Dog Boards / Health / Bitch waking in the night

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas for me, we have a Boxer bitch 4 years old who was mated 8 weeks ago and missed we thought she showed early signs of pregnancy in her behaviour but not physically, she has been fine until a couple of days ago when she started waking twice in he night and howling, when we come down and let her out she is not desperate for the toilet although she will have a wee she wags her tail and goes hapily to the garden. She has also taken to hiding in a cage during the day away from the other dogs which is unlike her, she usually curls up on the settee, her temp is normal she has no vaginal discharge or excessive drinking or weeing, she has also taken a dislike to one of our other bitches who she has aways got on well with, do you think it may be a phantom?  I just cannot understand the waking in the night this is so out of character she didn't even do this when she was pregnant last time. Any help would be appreciated.

My Boxer bitch used to get me up during the night as she got too hot and used to lay on the cool patio.
But you could see that she was pregnant..
She whelped her pups 4 years ago tomorrow...so this post brought back memories of that time :)

I think it could be although I am no expert in this area.  Somebody will probably be along the help out who is more experience than I am.  It certainly would fit though.
