I have a nine months boerbull, he digs a lot in the garden what can I do?

How you deal with it depends on *why* it's a problem........  For instance, if it's because he brings muddy footprints in the house, the giving him his own digging pit wouldn't help.  But if it's because he's digging up your flower beds, then supplying his own 'special' place to dig, with gauranteed 'rewards' would solve the problem.....

How deep does he dig?  If its not too deep then you could make him a sandpit and bury interesting things for him to find :D (carrying on Digger's idea here :D :D )

my two Beardies both loveto dig and throw thier toys into the whole I fill it in and then they dig it up again but only in the same place in fact they get quite frenzied I think its a sort of release a natural thing to do...... be it a bit messy when wet but I just throw an old towel down on the kitchen floor to pick up the mess

Does your dog spend most of his time in the garden? If so, he may have gone "self employed" and that's why he's digging. So he may need more things to do - stuffed kongs, training, and so on; and yes, his own special digging pit :P. If he starts to dig as soon as he gets outside, is there another dog nearby he is trying to get to, or is he trying to get out?

When he digs, are you in the house, or have you left: in which case, he might be digging to try to get out and find you :)

my dogs dont dig cause thier bored they have a massive garden in fact one quarter is fenced off so that I have control over when they actually play in the grassed area we play football and I have an agility course set up as we do agility at training class I spend time doing OB training and practice recall all through the day when they are playing in the largest part of the garden and this is apart from thier trips out .
I think they dig ....cause they like to dig !!!

my older boy rough collie used to dig when he was younger he now over 15yrs but he used to just lie in it !!
