What breed(s) do you own? Ireland has a DDA list of about ten dogs, including dobermanns, rotties and GSDs (and any crosses of them) amongst others, and the law over there requires them to be muzzled and leashed at all times when they aren't at home.  Sucks, but true.  It's what put me off taking my dogs there - having a dobe and rott X, it just wouldn't be a nice hol for them.

Georgina, that would be excellent perhaps you could pm me the information? It sounds lovely in Southern Ireland, think I will have to go to the library and get some books to read up on the different areas,I'm ashamed to say I am hopeless at geography :D

Can't help with dog friendly accommodation but the west of Ireland around Galway, Co.Mayo, Connemara and up into Sligo is stunning. Might look into taking the dogs there soon, though. And the Guinness is out of this world :D

Im from Ireland and will be going home for two weeks in a few weeks I love it over there Im not taking Abby as there will be lots going on and she wont get the attention she needs.
If you are going anywhere near Galway or Mayo you have to go to Achill Is its connected to the mainland by a bridge its beautiful.
All of the Republic is lovely every county has something to offer and the people are very friendly, not forgetting we have the best drink in the world.
Let us know how you get on and I hope you have a wonderfull time.
Mary
