Hi All,
First time poster. Had to have my old bitch PTS last night. Heartbroken. Thirteen years!
Im looking for another bitch. Does anyone know of any? Only for a pet. No shows or breeding.
Just want a happy healthy pup, that laughs all the time.
My email is carolDOTmaddoxATblueyonder.co.uk.
Please Help. Im not having any success at the mo.

hi sorry to hear about your loss, you will have to make another post saying what breed of dog you are looking for so that we can help you in your search :-)

Or better still you could join up and then you can ask as many questions etc as you like :-)

.....or maybe breed is not an important issue in which case a trip to your local rescue home should reveal many young dogs or even puppies looking for somewhere to be loved for the next 13 years :)

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your bitch. Unfortunately you don't say what breed you're looking for, so it's difficult to give you any specifics.

However if you go to the Kennel Club site, click on 'Breeds' and select the group and breed you're after, breed clubs will be listed at the bottom of the relevant breed standard. Contact them and ask for a list of reputable breeders. Good luck.

If your not bothered which breed or would also consider a cross look at http://www.dogpages.org.uk

If they are pedigree litters check with the breed clubs about the breeders you have found.

You don't want to unwitingly be lining the pockets of puppy farmers or irresponsiblew breeders.

They will tell you which health tests the parents should have had and be able to give you names of reputable breeders or check out our breedrs are not on their known rouges/exploiters lists.

Don't let anyone try to sell you short on quality or health checks.  A typical in appearance and temperament well bred pup from healthy parents will make as good or better pet.

Are you still not going to tell us what breed you are looking for :)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 06.07.05 19:22 UTC
They did on another thread :D  Preferably a Ridgeback.

Ah missed that one :)  Well I know JG has already pointed in the direction of the Breed Club, that's certainly your best bet Nestle.

Well I have called them and discovered for myself there are some dodgy characters out there.
I have spent the best part of two hrs on the phone!
BUT result. I have been put in touch with the puppy registrar of the breed club and she thinks there may be one. She will be calling me back next week. when she finds out for sure.

Thanks again.

I'm sure they will be able to help you although it is entirely possible you will have to wait a bit for a quality puppy but then it will be worth it considering you should then have lots of happy years together :)

Yeah isabel, I guess you're right.
Just greiving for jade at the mo. Need a pup to keep me busy clearing up after it!
I think JJ would want me to do that.
I guess that if its worth having its worth waiting for.
Im a bit worried for Vix though, She is still seeing her other doggie friends up the farm but its not the same as having a sister is it?
I mean she doesnt know what its all about.
Mom goes with JJ to docs and comes out with a collar and lead and no JJ. Almost beside herself with greif, she gets in the back of the car and behaves strangely...
Goes to the front of the car and drives home leaveing JJ behind. She isnt going to understand.
All she knows is that mom cries a lot and gives her loads of cuddles, and is terrified of anything happening to her...
I dont know.
I had just better pull myself together and wait..
