Well the specialist cavalier veterinary advice is as follows:

1.No dog/bitch under the age of 2 1/2 years of age to be bred from
2.ALL breeding dogs & bitches to be MRI scanned clear of Syringohydromyelia
3.ALL breeding dogs & bitches to current eye certificates(can only be done by specialist vet)ie the y are tested yearly
4.ALL breeding dogs & bitxhes to have a current clear heart certificates(as above must be done yearly)
5.Hip x rayed & scored for Hip Dysplasia
6.Close relatives(parents/offspring/siblings)of SHM sufferers should not be bred from & also if there is line breeding it should only be on one side of the pedigree

So you have plenty of time to get him into the ring & shown & assessed against the breed standard to see if he is good enough to be bred from & if he is bitch owners will contact you

The only breeders at all likely to want to use him will be the ones seeing him do well in the show ring.  Bitch owners are the ones that choose which dogs will be mated, if he does well at shows the next step will be them getting in touch with you to find out more about his lines and the results of his health tests.  Read this very informative post for more information about studding your dog.
