Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Paul Boland, Liverpool.A.I. sucess rate?
- By Guest [gb] Date 04.07.05 15:14 UTC
Hello,

Has anyone had experience of Paul Boland and his success rate at Liverpool for A.I.? as I am thinking of storing frozen semen there and having my bitch A.I. there too, or can anyone suggest someone else?

Just want to make sure I have the best possible result for my girl!

Many thanks

You do realise that the kennel club will not register pups produced by AI if both parents are resident in the UK.  they will only allow semen from a dead dog to be used if it is more than 15 years since his birth.  Prior permission and reasons are required by the kennel club, and the bitch must have whelped a litter before AI can be used at all.  The same applies for imported semen.,

Hello,

Thank you both for your replies!

Yes I have obtained KC permission as the semen is coming from abroad.

The reason I ask is I feel uncomfortable with Mr. Boland`s and his practice`s information, there does not seem to be any statistics available on his success rate, I had hoped someone would put my mind at rest, if not I would find another clinic (even though Mr. Boland`s is the closest to me!!).

Any help and information would be great, so I can make the best choice.

Many thanks.

Have you actually spoken to him or just visited the website? Is it a staffy you are breeding from then ? If so, might be worth ringing some of the Staffy clubs to see if they have any info or know anyone who has used this method from Mr Boland- the nearest clubs of course being the Merseyside SBT club, North West and Alyn and Deeside Clubs but Im sure others from further afield will have tried him too

Good luck :)

Can't help about Mr Boland,  but we were very pleased with the results of our AI mating done at Gill Averis' Tweed House practice in Yorkshire.

bye
