Hi
I was wondering if anyone could help. My doberman bitch is nine months old and I know will shortly start her first season. I want to know if there are any signs or symptons prior to the season starting so that I am prepared for it! Also she keeps getting a limp in her right leg for no reason we can think of(it happens even if we don't take for a run first!). Last time the vet gave her tablets to take down a swelling to see it helped and it did. Since then she has had the same limp a couple of more times. If anyone could answer my questions I would be really grateful.

Hi guest, each day you might be better giving her a wipe with tissue and seeing if she's spotting blood, also her vulva will swell quite alot that you wont miss it. With her limp she might just be having growing pains, but it's definitely worth taking her back to the vet to make sure it's nothing more serious to do with her joints or shoulder? better still why dont you join. Also which leg is it in? I'm just assuming it's in the front.
Warm regards Susan
Hi Guest
Sometimes bitches get more affectionate, distructive, standoffish or no change at all.
Look up Panostitis - that would be my first suspicion for a recurrent lameness with no obvious cause.
