Whilst on our walk this evening my two managed to catch a rabbit and then proceded to have a game of tug of war, upon inspection of the late rabbit i realised why they managed to catch it. The rabbit was infected with myxamatosis, does anyone know if this condition can in anyway affect dogs. (or is this a silly question)

Not a silly question, but no, it won't affect your dogs. :) Also, they've done the poor rabbit a favour, and gave it a quick, natural death.

My freind who is sadly deceased bred Finnish Spitz for many years.  At the height of the Myxsy outbreaks she had a bitch with a litter who refused to eat what she was offered and instead caught her own food in the form of the poor myxied rabbits and practically r4eared them on these.  She lived on 5 Acres and the rabbits were just dropping like flies.
