hi ive got a wedding to go to on Saturday and dont know what to wear. I havent been to a wedding for years. Ive put on quite a bit of weight so i will have to buy something new, its day and evening any suggestions?? Im 38 and size 14-16, i dont want to look too frumpy
I always stick to smart black trousers and a white shirt/ dressy Tshirt with perhaps a nice design on it. And heels, but make sure they're comfortable :P
Or..........you could wear a longish flowing skirt, not too frumpy, especially when worn with long boots :D with a dressy shirt or Tshirt. I always go for what I feel comfortable in and most of my wardrobe consists of black trousers/jeans/shirts/ tshirts with the odd skirt thrown in for when I'm feeling really daring :D
Go for nice summer colours as well like pale yellow or pink. Get a flattering cut of suit like a longer jacket so that it lengthens your body. Have a nice day :D

My daughter got married last year and I was surprised that all the ladies, except one, wore hats!! The youngsters (shows you what catagory I'm in!! ;) wore funky hats that went with their fun outfits, and the slightly older ladies wore slightly more formal hats. It was lovely that they'd all made such an effort.
Orange and emerald green are in this summer and brown is the new black (again). Wearing a white outfit (as posh spice did) is seen as disrespectful to the bride. If you're wearing a jacket wear something with short sleeves underneath as it can get quite hot at the evening reception. Can't you tell my cousin is a wedding planner. :-D
Never been mistaken for a waitress yet, haven't seen many waitresses wearing long suede boots and embroidery on their white shirts........or perhaps I go to too many business meetings and don't get out much :D
Umm, Orange and emeral green, definitely depends on your colouring. Go with whatever colour you know suits you :)
H Loveapup, Well if steletto's and a g string are out!!! A nice cream Trouser suite in nice light material, some wedding shops, sell the off from there bridal show's less than half price. All you will need then is your underwear if it's hot!! Regards Denese
Avoid wearing white, cream or ivory - it's a wedding no no! Anything you feel comfortable in that's smart casual will do. Most eyes will be on the bride anyway :) If it's day and evening then you might have to be on your feet for a while so don't wear shoes that will cripple you. Enjoy the day!
