Hi Everyone,

We got up this morning to find that our puppy has 'had a bad tummy', and since letting him out in the garden he has been for a number 2 twice, but its as runny as water!

Should i not give him any food for 24 hrs? whats the best way to deal with this?

Any help/info will greatly be received.
Thanks

If your puppy is unusually quiet I would take him to the vet, tummy upsets can sometimes be caused by rather nasty bacteria or a virus.

If your puppy is as lively as usual I would give him only water today.  Try to make sure he drinks  - give him some ice cubes of plain water or even freeze some plain broth if you have it (cook some chicken in water, don't give him the cubes, which are full of salt.)  You can also very lightly sweeten some water with sugar or honey and see if that encourages him to drink.  You want to make sure your puppy does not get dehydrated from the squirts.  (If you puppy refuses to drink and the squirts continue I would take him to the vet.)

All being well, tomorrow you can give him a bit of chicken and rice or white fish and rice.

You could also add Bio Yoghurt to his food or even his water to help him rehydrate.  Bio Yoghurt will help his gut recover quickly :)
