Hi everyone.

I recently posted as a guest requesting help finding a family with a Rhodesian Ridgeback, so my husband can go and 'meet one' and hopefully I can persuade him to let me have a puppy!!!  I then got hooked on reading all the posts and the great advise that I decided to join-up :-)

Thank you very much to 'Archer' who kindly replied to my post.  I'm now in touch with the owner from Imbali Rhodesian Ridgebacks who is going to put me in touch with one of her owners (if they agree of course)!

I'm so excited at the thought of getting a puppy and hope to find a dog similar to the Ridgeback I had as a child.  He (Red) was quite tall, very stocky and a gorgeous deep red colour.  I'm not so keen on the bitches or the more 'light wheaten' coloured dogs.  The great thing is that as well as puppy training classes, etc, I now know there is a fab support group and network here at Champdogs, so whatever I decide to do with my puppy I will be confident there is someone out there to help.

Sorry to rave on.  Look forward to learning more about you all as time goes by.  I will of course update you in due course......

Regards,
Helen

Welcome Helen,

We are in the same boat, I have been waiting since February for our puppy, and he hasn't even been made yet, so we are STILL waiting....! It is nice to know we are not the only one's waiting!

The only problem with being addicted to CD (which you will be ;) ), is that there is always someone going to pick their puppy up, and it makes you want to scream!! :D

Thanks everyone for replying.  Sounds like I'd better get a tea-maid and toaster by the sofa ready for all the time spend reading and posting here!

What breed of puppy are you waiting for Natalie?

Hi Helen :D

We are getting an Australian Shepherd puppy, and if I haven't made it clear enough already I CAN'T STAND TO WAIT ANY LONGER!!!!!! :D I wasn't this bad when I was pregnant with my son!!!

Enjoy CD, they are not all as mad as me!! ;)

Hi there

I've recently plucked up the courage to become "active" on CD but I have to warn you - it's addictive!  I work from home so I don't have anybody there to gently nudge me to get back to work.  That said, not much work has been done lately.  I better go and do some now!

Good luck with the puppy.

Greetings Helen

I have part shares in two dogs a Beardie and a Tibetan Terrier.  I know, sounds mad doesnt it.  My partner has a whole Beardie too so we have at least two dogs at home at any time.

Any way I am waiting for my very own Tibettan Terrier puppy - who I hope is in the process of being knitted as we speak, and I can't wait.

Hi Helen and welcome to Champdogs

I have 2 bulldog puppies, Dozer who is 19 weeks and Bubbles who is 12 weeks and deaf :-)

Good luck persuading your husband, I managed it ;-) He went from wanting no dogs to us now having 2 :-D So believe me it can be done.

Keep us posted.

H Helen, we have 2 dogs too and my husband was a reluctant dog owner. Now he is right in there walking, grooming and feeding. He even likes our Boxer puppy - he said he didnt like squashed faced dogs. Im sure the Ridgebacks will win him round.
