Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / wanted:- 2 girl Min/toy poodles.

Our gorgeous apricot poodle, Candy,  has just died aged almost 17 years and we miss her terribly. We are looking to buy 2 little girls to fill the big gap in our lives that has been created by the loss of Candy.

We live by the river in Berkshire (Candy used to enjoy a swim),  we are prepared to travel any distance to look at puppies.

If anyone has a litter, with 2 girls, please contact us at:-  jenniwren1950@hotmail.com

Many thanks

I suggest you contact the breed clubs for Toy poodles.  I will warn you that you will rarely find a breeder willing to let you ahve tow pups the same age.  Pups need a lot of one to one attention for at least the first 18 months.

With two they bond more with each other (as is natural) than to the human family).  Not only can this make training more difficult it can also cause them to be over reliant on each other.

There also can be dominance issues with two the same age as there won't be the natural age gap to give a natural order they will need to sort it out bewtween them which could mean fighting, often not until teyy are around two years old, and then deciding which to rehome, or having to live in a siege environment can be very difficult.

Two really sin't double trouble it is trouble squared.

Whey not have one and then another two years later when the first will be a well behaved example for the others.

If you use the search facility on this forum, key in something like Two pups, you will find this topic has been covered in depth a number of times, including quite recently.
