My friend has to put his dog in kennels for about a month in July. He phoned up lots of boarding kennels and most said they were full during that time (what with summer holiday etc.). So he just don't know what to do. He can book in advance either because he's not quite sure what date he will be going away at present. Also he isn't too keen on kennelling his dog for a whole month (the dog has never been in kennels before). Well I told him that I read in a dog magazine one time about doggy day care where someone looks after your dog in their own house. I couldn't tell him anymore about it because I simply don't know. Is there any that will take a dog not just for 8 hours a day but the entire time for a month? Also if so, what rates are usually charged? He doesn't have a massive budget but will find the money if need be. I'd take care of his dog myself but if all goes as planed I will have a new puppy then and unable to do both.

By the way he lives in Northwest London, that maybe of some help.

I pay £20 for two dogs to be looked after in someones house, there are quite a few people that do it now.  I live in hampshire which would be a bit of a trek but if you want the details I can pm you, she really is good, not sure about how far in advance you would have to book, ive always been lucky :)
