My friend has a whippet cross border collie and wants to breed from her with a pointer. I have tried to explain to her that crossbreeding is not a good idea but she keeps on telling me that it is fine to crossbreed. Please tell me how i can convince her otherwise

Take her on a "mystery trip" to your local rescue centre and let her see all the unwanted crossbreeds there! :(
Very good idea, Val. Or go one 'better' and take her to the council kennels and get one of the kennel maids to show her the ones that are due to be PTS because nobody wants them :(
Take her to the kennels and ask if you can see the freezer, she'd never think twice about breeding again, i went in once when i did work experience and id never walk in there again.
:( took me 3 days to figure out what the freezer at the vets was for :( The staff would just walk around it as normal, it was just in the store room, all stock was stored ontop of it....:(
Also tell you friend all about loosing the bitch during pregancy or birth...
I would also have thought that a whippet x border collie must be quite a bit smaller than a pointer -so the bitch would be at great risk from having overlarge puppies and needing a VERY expensive caesarian section.
