Hi
My friend has got a stafford which is in season and took her to the stud dog for mating, however there was no tie on the first occasion and she is due to go back, but what seems strange is the owner of stud dog which is well proven actually held his dog inside the girl could this have stopped a tie taking place? also what are the chances of pregnancy occuring she was told that it was a complete mating?

hi , i own english bull terriers, and they very rarely tie, the male has to be held on the bitch, they do become pregnant without the tie, as long as he has stayed there untill he has finished. good luck.

she has bred from the same dog before and always had a tie i was wandering if there could be a reason the owner of the stud dog did not want them to tie and that is why he was holding him
