May be a silly question, BUT, can you get merle collies without the piercing yellow, blue eyes??

Merles shouldn't have yellow eyes no BC should, a lot have brown eyes depends on the breeding

There are some Blue merle shelties here with brown eyes

MM I have seen lots of red and white and red merle dogs with what I would call dark amber eyes, perhaps this is what the OP meant? I don't know what the correct name is for that colour or whether they would just be referred to as brown. :-) I have also seen red and blue merles with both brown and blue eyes and some with a mixture. My pups eyes look as though they are going to be the golden colour I mentioned above.

Dark amber is not too bad but yellow yuk lots of beardies have them most uncollie like
