Just thought i'd ask if anyone has heard of this or if anyone uses this technique of training.
I also thought i'd introduce myself too :D I've been a lurker for many years lol just haven't been brave enough to become a full blown member & post & reply ... untill now :-)
I have 3 dogs which i feed BARF too, one of my "clan " is under going hydro & also chiro for a spinal problem & i have to say the improvement is fantastic :D.
I work for a rescue shelter which i love & apart from my kids ( which come first ) my "other life" revolves around my clan & work which i love.
Anyway i've rambled on long enough for now but i just wanted to say hi :D & i hope you dont mind me being active & a little brave on your board.
:D :D :D

They sound great. BTW, what's bridge training? I assume you're not referring to the card game, which I play pretty badly LOL
lol @ Vicki :D i cant even play bridge :(
It's a new technique of training, i've recently been on a course & was interested if anyone else was using it. It's very different .... so some people are having a problem with getting to grips with it, all i can say is that the results at work are fantastic .... if you can imagine clicker training ... but add in a game of hot & cold too > the clicker is a marker for the behaiviour that you want well you sort of add in hot & cold ( i dont explain things well sorry lol ) you also dont use a clicker just using it as an example & you dont use food like you would with a clicker, there's loads more to it & i know i dont do it justice :( lol

I saw an article on this in Dogs Today last month I think. Very interesting and thought provoking. Would like to see it in action.
It is really good .... i'm just pants at explaining it :(
Work have had fantastic results ... some16 dogs are now living good lives in homes where before they may have had to be pts :(
It also works on horses & goats too :D lol
It took my ages to get to grips with the clicker when i first picked that up so you can imagine what i'm like with this lol :$
I'm hoping my confidance in myself will grow with this & that i'll be able to get to grips with it, i was hoping someone else might be using it & i could brain bash them ;) lol :D

Hello and Welcome Stanley. I've just recently managed to get the nerve to post too. There is some terrific advice on here. I'm currently owned by 2 GSD's who are as daft as a brush. Both rescue dogs. One of mine had a spinal problem too and is currently undergoing hydro as well. He's doing very well.
I used to do clicker training and target stick training and found it really enjoyable. I don't know anything about bridge, but it sounds good. I'll have to do some reading :-)

Thanks Kay - I'll have a look at it when I've got more time.
Hi Stanley, ooh another viz owner, you'll have to tell me all about him/her! We have 2 smooth girlies and a little(well catching up to the girls!)wire boy...he's fab...as as the girlies but he's my spesh little man!
It's good here, most of us are addicts, I never get any work done when I'm on the computer thanks to this site :D
Emily, and her Hungarian 'clan' :)
Hi Emily :-)
Does Ido take after his mum Pattie ? ;-) :D
He has a lot of mannerisms that are similiar to Pattie....the 'Leiborschy wiggle', as we call it, is something that my smooths have never done but he does it alot....and Pattie is the master of that :D
Looks wise he is very similiar to his aunty Yendah and he loves her.....he gets all over excited and super happy whenever he sees her! Its great that he gets to see his relatives so often.
Now....I'm still trying to work out who you are and how you know my Idõ and his mum :D ...........so who are you????!!!
Hi Emily :D
I dont know Ido but he sounds great ! I do know Pattie though ;) lol
Does he also speak while he wiggles :D ;) mine does :D:D:D:D
He is great, don't know where I'd be without him....altho they are all drving me crazy today LOL :D I love Pattie, she's lovely and did a great job with all her babies :)
Still intrigued....and yes he does 'talk' when he wiggles....and quite often tinkles on my feet at the same time!!!
Do you have a wire or a smooth?
