To answer your question, no, you shouldn't breed from her in the future. Sorry.

Laura, I thought you did say in an earlier post that you were not allowed to breed her, is she endorsed or were you maning due to her medical condition just now?  Don't eat me alive :-D  I just wondered why you said you couldn't breed her then and are now asking :-)
- By lauragrimsby [gb] Date 14.06.05 16:45 UTC
I have Not said I can Not breed her i wanted to no if i could or is it dangerouse just want some bleeding advice is that 2 much 2 ask

Language

It isn't DANGEROUS in the Demodetic mange is not life-threatening BUT it could come back.   And puppies could be affected.  And you would be held responsible for the puppies because you knew that their mother had been affected by it.

Basically, its not ethical to breed from her.

I'm afraid no matter how many times you ask (or how rudely) the answer will be the same. A dog which has suffered from demodectic mange should not be bred from.

It could indeed be dangerous for her - dogs suffering from this sometimes have to be put to sleep. 'Veterinary Notes for Dog Owners' states that, even today, euthanasia may be necessary on humane grounds.

Also: "It is likely that the immunodeficiency involved in this condition is hereditary and therefore owners should not breed from recovered animals, even if the disease was present in the localised form."

I don't think you can get a clearer answer than that.

If you ask politely :-))

Laura I must be mad replying to you as you are certainly being rude when people are indeed trying to help you.

Your post here :

You post which I have copied for you  and you clearly say you can not breed her so I was mearly asking what the problem is.

I think you have you answer now anyway..

Laura - if you will "do wat (sic) you like and ask wat(sic) I like when ever I like" - why bother coming on here and asking the same question?  You'll still get the same answer!

why ask if your only gonna do wat you like wen you like? aparently even if her mange has cleared up by the time it has come around to a possibility of breeding her.the stress of the pregnancy and birth will kick the mange off again.if you love your girl why would you want to put her through it? and any new owners? seriosly listen to people on here they do know wat there talking about! :)

What do the experts at your breed club say?  If they contradict the advice offered now and in previous threads on this board please come back with us and discuss like a reasonable adult, using appropriate language though.
