hi i have a five month old male dobermann and he is the best dog in the world now he is in a routine but the problems start when were out walking at first he is great he dose not pull or miss behave once untill he see's another dog or a bird he starts pulling and barking. i know that he only wants to play but its scarying people near bye and you can not always now what the other dogs are like. 90% of the time the dogs do get on great and and run around the park or fields together. i have tryed diffrent methods of getting im to stop or at least carm down but nothing so far has worked please help thank you.
Do you do socialisation classes with your dob?, it would really help and get him used to seeing alot of other dogs. If he starts pulling stop and dont walk any further then call him back to your side and reward him, then walk.
Warm regards Susan

i have been trying to find classes in my area but the one ive found is full but i will keep trying and the reward system gose right out of his mind when he spots another dog its driving me mad
I know the feeling well my westie is the same, but i never took her to socialisation classes and every dog that goes past she backs but i have noticed if i do something stupid to get her attention back on me or i have a really tasty treat she does focus back on me. It is a pain in the bum though. Good luck searching for a socialisation class.
Warm regards Susan
