I hope someone can give me some advise on camping and raw feeding.
How do you cope and what do you feed your dog. Obvously I can't carry much meat (no fridge or Freezer) is there some alternative that anyone knows about . Do I need to wean him off his raw diet to an all in one complete food for the holiday and then wean him back off it on our return? I don't fancy him having an upset tummy in the tent!
The dog is a flatcoated retriever aged 3 and a bit months.
Advise and ideas welcome.
I dont feed raw but I understand that some people use Naturediet as a substitute whilst on their hols if that helps.

hmmm, yeh nature diet is probably ur best bet. how long are you going away for?
as i understand it you can switch to and from barf automatically. When my dog was fed barf last yr i changed her straight over with no probs
I'm away for two weeks. Do you think I should give it a trial run?
I feed BARF and use NatureDiet when we go away. I've never had any problems - my two love it. I do know of one dog that turned her nose up at it so you may want to check they will eat it, though this particular bitch was a fussy eater anyway. I just switch them over when we go away and then put them back on BARF when we get home - there's no need to wean them onto it.

I use NatureDiet too when I go away also take first night's meal frozen so it's defrosted by the time we get there. Along with tinned fish and anything I can buy they do fine

thank you ....I will give nature diet a go

I usually feed BARF and take a frozen lot down with me for the next day too :) I then use natures own, its in foil sachets so doesnt take up as much room, its very similar to nature diet but is made by AMP, dont need to wean them onto it as it is similar to BARF, just cooked :)
