how long will a bitch except a dog for once she is ready to mate, is it usually a week?
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 09.06.05 13:06 UTC
I've found it to be 5 days tops.

one of my bitches once mated twice, then after 2 weeks let the dog mate her again, very weird, she didnt conceive though so dont what happened there

I have had a maiden bitch accept a maiden dog days 12, 14, 15, 16 and 18.  In my breed and my bitches I have usually had fertile matings at days 14 to 17.  I have usually had bitches willing over about 5 days.

Technically speaking you would expect a bitch to accept a dog from ovulation to four days after as by then the ova are dying off.  The ova are not fertilizable until about 48 hours after ovulation, so accepting a dog more than two days before ovulation would be pointless as the amount of sperm in good condition will be minimal after about 4 days.

My poor Thomas was 'raped' as a 5 month old puppy by his mum who was 3 weeks after mating the floosy!! And no nothing happened or she would have been made into a rug!

I have found bitches will stand for each other long before and past the time they would stand for a male, this is just make beleive not the real deal :D

My lot have gang bangs for weeks after they have been mated :)

Sounds familiar :D  The only one who doesn't bother anymore is the eldest as I think she isn't strong enough in quarters for too mcuh of that any more :D

Bless. The best bit is when you have visitors who see three dalmatians all on top of each other mating.  Thomas looks on bemused ;)

Oh don't I had some non doggy visitors right in the middle of my difficult mating.  You can just imagine it it looked like a menage et trois with my son adding his encouragement and help from the sidelines!!!!  The poor man was dumbstruck!!!

when can a bitch first conceive ever.

i've heard that if mating they should wait till her second season is anyone willing to explain what seasons are.

I suggest you buy a copy of "The Book of the Bitch" by Evans and White, and read it from cover to cover several times.

Ideally a bitch shouldn't be mated before her third season, or her second birthday (whichever is earliest).
