Hi I really need some advice, my GPS puppy is only 3months old but very agressive, when hes calm hes a lovely dog to own he walks well on the lead, sits most times on command and is lovely to be around. However at times during the day and evening he just turns fron Mr jekel into Mr hide, he picks cloths up, books up anyrthing that will get him into trouble, I have three daughters 18,15,12 and they are becoming scared of him, he will play for so long and then just start bitting and no matter what you do he wont stop, as soon as you put your hands any where near him he starts, even if you ignore him he will jup up and start bitting tearing cloths etc, I have given him loud commands to stop which somtimes seems to work but at other times he just continues, he as drawn blood on several occasion, I have even had to smack his nose and at times hold him flat to the floor before he will stop, as you can imagine our lovely puppy is creating a home from hell, can anyone give me some advice on whatt o do and how to deal with this behaviour. Thsi is our first GSP is this typical behaviour and will he get any better, please help. e mail robert1963@btinternet.com.
thanks
This does sound like normal behaviour, and you just need to know how to stop him :)
Easier said than done! Try contacting www.puppyschool.co.uk or www.apdt.co.uk for a trainer near you who could help. You will find lots of worried owners in just the same boat!
Gwen Bailey's "The Perfect Puppy" is of a great help, as is "The Ultimate Puppy".
Also do a search on here for puppy biting, nipping, etc..you will find lots of advice .

Just remeber aswell he could be teething so you should provide him something to chew on like a bone. I think it would serve you good to read up on your breed if you can't get in touch with your breeder. Also if you try to get hold of this booklet The Fast Track puppy survival kit, Author Lynn Fleet and Helen Roberts it's really good with loads of tips on how to train your puppy, how to stop him from becoming bored, those terrible teething times and unwonted behaviour. It will be in your best interested to do what you can now while he is still young and nip his bad behaviour in the but. Sounds like when he's having his funny half hour he bites you.
Warm regards Susan
