Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Bullmastiff Problems

Hi

My bullmastiff is 2 1/2 years old and seems to still sleep a great deal - i was wondering if this is normal?

My second question is that over the last 6 months he has become quite a fighter over the park, he is fine with other dogs coming into he's house but will go for other male dogs over the park.  I am wondering whether this is something that he will grow out of, or whether it is common for bullmastiffs

Any advise would be gratefully appreciate

Bullmastiffs do sleep a lot that is perfectly normal for them.As for fighting in the park you should not allow him loose with other dogs as is this a common problem with Bullmastiffs as they have a tendency not to take kindly to strange dogs, especially now that he is starting to mature. although you may find he is ok with some dogs but not others especially other males, always keep him on a lead when out in public places as you will never be able to trust him now this has happened, and it will happen again.
